Helping Vulnerable children in Mongolia

This trip is being done in aid of the Lotus Children's Centre in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The Lotus Children's Centre cares for and educates between 90 and 150 abused, abandoned or orphaned children.  Many of these were street children who had been abandoned at a very early age, and were struggling to survive in  brutal conditions – Ulaanbaatar is the coldest capital city on the planet, and in winter the temperature can fall as low as -50C. Many of the girls on the street had been abused, and some forced into prostitution at a very early age. Some others are special needs children, for whom there are very limited facilities in Mongolia. The most remarkable thing that Lotus achieves is to help these kids rediscover their self-esteem, and to develop their skills so that they are able to move on and lead independent lives in adulthood.

The centre receives no state support and so relies solely on fundraising in order to provide the much needed support for these children. I hope that you can help us support what is such a worthy cause and donate to the charity via our Virgin Giving page.
